Pakistani Startup BIONIKS Wins Prestigious Zero Project Award 2025

BIONIKS, a groundbreaking Pakistani startup, has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first company from the country to receive the esteemed Zero Project Award 2025.

The award acknowledges BIONIKS for its pioneering efforts in empowering individuals with disabilities by integrating them into the workforce through cutting-edge prosthetic technology.

Established in 2016, BIONIKS specializes in orthotics and prosthetics, leveraging artificial intelligence and 3D scanning to develop customized solutions. The company has provided over 700 tailored prosthetic limbs, revolutionizing accessibility for people with physical disabilities. The Zero Project Award, a globally recognized honor, highlights innovative initiatives that enhance the rights and inclusion of persons with disabilities.

From a pool of 522 global nominees, BIONIKS was selected among 77 winners for 2025, as announced in a post by the company on X. The award was officially presented at a United Nations event, recognizing BIONIKS’ AI-driven prosthetic technology as one of the most scalable and impactful solutions worldwide. This achievement cements BIONIKS’ status as a trailblazer in Pakistan’s assistive technology sector.

Earlier this year, the startup launched a mobile AI-powered limb factory in Gaza, allowing amputees to receive customized prosthetic arms and legs tailored to their needs.

BIONIKS first gained international attention in 2021 by creating a multi-grip bionic arm for a four-year-old boy, Mohammed Sideeq, making him the youngest recipient of an advanced prosthetic limb.

This recognition underscores BIONIKS’ commitment to transforming lives through innovation, setting a new benchmark for assistive technology in Pakistan and beyond.
