A major boost to Punjab’s industrial development has been announced as a Chinese investor group signed a landmark agreement to pour $1.5 billion into the creation of a 300-acre industrial park in the province. According to the Punjab Industries, Commerce, Investment & Skills Development (ICISD) Department, the project will be developed by Sino Pak Tech Industry (Pvt) Ltd, marking one of the largest foreign direct investments Punjab has secured in recent years.
The upcoming industrial park is designed to host a wide range of manufacturing units, including textiles, automotive, pharmaceuticals, engineering, and technology-based industries. As production ramps up, the project is expected to generate thousands of employment opportunities, creating a ripple effect across the local economy by supporting supply chains, small businesses, and industrial service providers.
Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce Chaudhry Shafay Hussain described the agreement as a transformative step for Punjab. He emphasized that the government is committed to offering full support to foreign investors, ensuring streamlined policies, faster approvals, and all necessary facilitation. “This investment will usher in a new era of employment and industrial development in the province,” he said in the official statement.

The Punjab government has already accelerated upgrades across its Special Economic Zones (SEZs) to meet global standards. These enhancements include improved infrastructure, energy supply, digital connectivity, and modern facilities to attract further international investment. Under the management of the Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development and Management Company (FIEDMC), additional support services are being introduced, such as community centers, financial institutions, and one-window operations for investors to simplify the setup process.
Sino Pak Tech Industry (Pvt) Ltd forms part of a larger network of Sino-Pak cooperation companies engaged in expanding Chinese industrial and technological presence in Pakistan. Publicly available information shows that associated entities—such as SinoPak Electromechanica (Pvt) Ltd—provide comprehensive support services to Chinese enterprises operating locally. Their services include procurement, customs clearance, logistics, machinery installation, and after-sales support, ensuring smooth industrial operations from inception to production.
This $1.5 billion industrial park signifies not only deepening economic ties between China and Pakistan but also Punjab’s accelerating journey toward becoming a competitive regional hub for manufacturing and technology.
