Lahore may soon see the revival of the vibrant Basant festival, as the Punjab government evaluates proposed dates and comprehensive safety plans. A high-level meeting has been scheduled to discuss administrative preparations, security arrangements, and the most appropriate timing for the event.
Officials are considering two possible date options for Basant:
- February 14–15
- March 21–22
These dates have been selected based on expected weather patterns and anticipated public participation.
Although the festival has not yet received official approval, authorities stress that a final decision will be made only after receiving directives from the Punjab government.
