Pakistan has made a strong start to its kinno export season by shipping 6,000 tonnes of the citrus fruit to the Middle East, Sri Lanka, and the Philippines within just the first 10 days of December 2025.
According to industry sources, exporters are aiming to export 300,000 tonnes of kinnow during the current season. This target is supported by a bumper harvest of around 2.7 million tonnes, reflecting favorable weather conditions and improved farming practices.
Although overall production remains high, exporters acknowledge that the sector is still striving to regain the export volumes achieved about five years ago. Challenges such as logistics, packaging standards, and access to new markets have affected export growth in recent years.

However, the strong early shipments indicate rising international demand and renewed confidence in Pakistan’s kinnow quality. Exporters believe that continued focus on better processing, cold storage, and market diversification can help boost exports further in the coming months.
The positive start to the season is being seen as an encouraging sign for Pakistan’s agriculture and export sectors, offering potential growth in foreign exchange earnings and stronger positioning in global fruit markets.
