Ban Tobacco, Vapes,

The College Education Department has imposed a strict ban on the use, possession, and promotion of tobacco products, vapes, and narcotics in all colleges across Karachi as part of a broader effort to create a safer and healthier learning environment for students.

According to an official notification, the ban takes immediate effect and covers a wide range of products, including cigarettes, e-cigarettes (vapes), nicotine pouches, pan, gutka, and other tobacco-related items within college premises. The department has directed all college administrations to enforce the new regulations without delay.

College principals have been instructed to ensure that campuses remain free from tobacco and drug use by implementing strict monitoring measures and promoting awareness among students about the health risks associated with these substances. The initiative aims to encourage a healthier academic environment while maintaining discipline and student well-being.

In addition, the department has asked deputy commissioners and relevant local authorities to take action against the sale and promotion of tobacco products and narcotics in areas surrounding educational institutions. Officials believe restricting access to these products near colleges will help discourage their use among students and contribute to a safer educational atmosphere.

The new measures reflect the government’s commitment to protecting young people from the harmful effects of tobacco, nicotine, and illegal drugs. Authorities have emphasized that educational institutions should be places where students can focus on learning and personal development without exposure to unhealthy or illegal substances.

The College Education Department has urged all colleges to fully implement the directives and cooperate with law enforcement agencies to ensure compliance with the new regulations across Karachi.
