The Lahore Metro Bus Service could face a major disruption as private operator Veda Transit Solutions has issued a notice stating that all operations may be suspended from August 11, 2026, due to the continued non-availability of fuel.
According to the company, it has repeatedly contacted the Punjab Mass Transit Authority (PMTA) through letters and meetings, requesting an immediate solution to the fuel supply problem. However, Veda claims that no practical arrangement has been made so far.
The company says its financial resources have now been exhausted and continuing to operate buses without a reliable fuel supply is no longer possible. Veda has urged the Punjab Mass Transit Authority to ensure uninterrupted fuel availability through its own resources, particularly in accordance with a court order.
Veda also clarified that any suspension of the service would not be the result of negligence or a lack of cooperation from the company. Instead, it would be directly linked to the ongoing fuel shortage.

With August 11 approaching, all eyes are now on the Punjab government and the Punjab Mass Transit Authority to resolve the fuel supply issue and prevent a suspension of operations.
