Under the Reko Diq project, eight talented engineers from Balochistan have been sent to Argentina for international-standard training. This initiative is part of the educational development program of Reko Diq Mining Company, known as the International Graduate Development Program. The engineers hail from various regions of Balochistan and will undergo eighteen months of specialized training at Barrick Mining Corporation’s Valediro Project in Argentina, focusing on advanced mining techniques.
This program aims to equip local youth with world-class education and professional skills, making them valuable assets for the Reko Diq company, the nation, and their communities in the future. Upon completing their training, these engineers will return to actively participate in the Reko Diq project and contribute significantly to positive change within their communities.
It is noteworthy that, under the same project, earlier in 2023 and 2024, two groups of nine and ten engineers respectively received training in mining operations at Barrick projects in Argentina and Zambia. These efforts underline the commitment to skill development and capacity building for Balochistan’s youth, fostering local talent to meet international standards.
This ongoing initiative reflects a strategic focus on empowering local engineers through global exposure, which is expected to yield long-term benefits for the region’s economic development and skill enhancement.
