Federal Government Approves Deployment of Civil Armed Forces for November 23 By-Elections

The federal government has approved the deployment of Civil Armed Forces for security during the by-elections scheduled for 23 November, following a request from the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

According to the Ministry of Interior, Pakistan Army and Civil Armed Forces will be stationed as Quick Reaction Forces (QRF) to ensure peace and security during the polling process.

Deployment Timeline

The Interior Ministry has approved the deployment of personnel in by-election constituencies from 22 to 24 November, covering the full election period.

By-Election Details

On Sunday, 23 November, by-elections will be held in Punjab for:

  • 5 National Assembly (NA) constituencies
  • 7 Provincial Assembly (PP) constituencies

National Assembly Constituencies with Force Deployment

Security forces will be deployed in the following NA constituencies:

  • NA-18
  • NA-96
  • NA-104
  • NA-143
  • NA-185
  • NA-129

Punjab Assembly Constituencies

Deployment has also been approved for the following PP constituencies:

  • PP-73
  • PP-98
  • PP-115
  • PP-116
  • PP-203
  • PP-269
  • PP-87

Cities Where Troops Will Be Deployed

Army and Civil Armed Forces personnel will be deployed in:

  • Faisalabad
  • Sahiwal
  • Dera Ghazi Khan
  • Lahore
  • Muzaffargarh
  • Mianwali

Final Security Strength

The final number of security personnel will be determined jointly by the Punjab Home Department and the Election Commission of Pakistan.
