The Government of Pakistan has announced public holidays from May 26 to 28, 2026, for Eid-ul-Adha after the sighting of the Dhu Al-Hijjah moon. According to the Cabinet Division, the decision was made following the announcement by the central moon-sighting committee, which confirmed that Eid-ul-Adha will be observed on May 27.
The three-day holiday period is expected to boost domestic travel, family gatherings, and commercial activity as citizens across the country prepare for the annual festival and perform sacrificial rituals. Markets and livestock sectors are also likely to see increased activity in the days leading up to Eid.

Meanwhile, preparations for Hajj are in full swing in Saudi Arabia. Pakistan’s Minister for Religious Affairs reviewed arrangements for Pakistani pilgrims in Arafat and Mina, ensuring better facilities, accommodation, and food services during the holy pilgrimage. Authorities have assured that all necessary steps are being taken to provide comfort and support to pilgrims throughout their stay in the Kingdom.
