Pakistan has publicly unveiled an indigenously developed drone-jamming gun designed to neutralize the growing threat of cross-border suicide drones. The system, named ‘Sufra’, was presented at the Karachi Maritime Expo and represents a critical advancement in asymmetric warfare technology.
Developed by the National Electronics Complex of Pakistan, the Sufra is a tactical, portable counter-drone system with an effective range of up to 1.5 kilometers. Its primary function is to disable “kamikaze” or hostile surveillance drones by jamming the signals between the drone and its operator. The system operates within a focused 30-degree arc, which can be adjusted based on mission requirements, allowing for precise targeting and minimizing collateral interference.

A key feature of the Sufra is its dual-mode capability; it can either seize control of an incoming drone or render both the drone and its controller completely inoperable. Developers also state that the system can tackle multiple hostile drones simultaneously. It is slated for deployment along sensitive national borders and for securing large public events to protect critical infrastructure and crowds.
