Pakistani Boxer Muhammad Waseem wins BRB in Malta

Pakistan’s boxing star Muhammad Waseem achieved another milestone on Saturday in Malta.

Competing in a Bantamweight Ranking Bout sanctioned by the World Bodybuilding Federation (WBF), the 34-year-old knocked out Georgian boxer Jaba Memishishi in the third round. This victory marked Waseem’s 13th professional win, with nine of those coming by knockout.

Waseem’s professional record now stands at 13-2 from a total of 15 bouts.

Previously, the two-time WBC silver champion faced a setback when Denmark denied him a visa. Expressing his disappointment in an interview with a local news channel, Waseem said, “I have been a world champion twice, yet they rejected my visa, claiming I might not return. I travel the world and was training with my coaches in London. I needed to be in Malta early to prepare for the upcoming world title fight.”

Earlier in August, the “falcon” was confident about his chances against his opponent Sabelo and delivered on that promise.

“I was confident about my success against my opponent. The world title fight is incredibly important to me, and I don’t want to miss this chance,” Waseem said, calling on the Pakistani government, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and the army chief to step in and help secure his visa.
