The Punjab government has taken a major step toward providing housing for low-income families with the launch of the “Apni Zameen, Apna Ghar” scheme. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurated the e-portal (azag.punjab.gov.pk) for online applications, allowing eligible citizens to register for free 3-marla residential plots.
This initiative is an extension of the “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar” program, under which 34,000 housing units are already under construction, with 2,000 homes completed. The first phase of the new scheme will distribute 2,000 plots across 19 districts in Punjab, including Jhelum, Patoki, Mamoo Kanjan, Lodhran, and Renala Khurd.

How to Apply?
Interested applicants in “Apni Zameen, Apna Ghar” Project can submit their requests through the official portal (azag.punjab.gov.pk). The selection of beneficiaries will be conducted via a ballot system, ensuring transparency. Successful applicants will also receive low-interest loans for house construction, with a 3-month grace period and flexible installment plans.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif emphasized that this “Apni Zameen, Apna Ghar” project is more than just housing it’s about fulfilling the dreams of thousands of families. She highlighted that her government has laid the foundation for historic welfare initiatives in just six months, surpassing efforts made over decades.
Housing Minister Bilal Yasin revealed that under the “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar” scheme, 33,500 people have already received Rs. 36 billion in loans to build their homes.
