In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated that the training launch’s objectives were to teach soldiers, validate different technological parameters, and assess the effectiveness of numerous sub-systems integrated for increased precision and survivability.
According to the statement, “senior officers from the Army Strategic Forces Command, Strategic Plans Division, scientists, and engineers of strategic organizations witnessed today’s training launch.”
It also said that “the technical prowess, dedication, and commitment of scientists who contributed towards this landmark achievement” were acknowledged by the director general of the Strategic Plans Division.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Chairman, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President Asif Ali Zardari, and the chiefs of the services congratulated the scientists and engineers on their accomplishment.
Pakistan successfully launched the 400-kilometer-range Fateh-II Guided Rocket System for training in May.
At the time, the ISPR had said that Pakistan’s artillery divisions were integrating Fatah-II for precise, stand-off engagement on deep targets. It was claimed that the rocket system would greatly increase the conventional arsenal of the Pakistan Army’s reach and lethality.
Pakistan also carried out a successful test flight of the Ababeel weapon system in October 2023. According to the ISPR, the missile system’s operationalization of full spectrum deterrence within the framework of credible minimum deterrence is intended to “strengthen deterrence and enhance strategic stability in the region.”
