Pakistan and Bangladesh have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in key sectors during a high-level meeting held in Islamabad.
Dr. A. Z. M. Zahid Hossain, Bangladesh’s Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare, called on Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar during his visit to Pakistan to attend the 9th OIC Ministerial Conference on Women.
Welcoming the Bangladeshi minister, Senator Ishaq Dar appreciated Bangladesh’s active participation in the conference and highlighted the importance of promoting women’s empowerment across the Muslim world. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to working closely with OIC member states to advance initiatives that support women’s rights, social inclusion, education, and economic participation.
During the meeting, Senator Dar recalled his visit to Dhaka last August and emphasized Pakistan’s desire to further strengthen ties with Bangladesh through constructive dialogue and increased collaboration. He reiterated Pakistan’s readiness to expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest and build stronger people-to-people connections.

The two leaders discussed opportunities to enhance bilateral cooperation in trade, education, social welfare, and cultural exchanges. Officials noted that improved cooperation in education and social welfare could create new opportunities for knowledge sharing, capacity building, and joint initiatives aimed at improving the lives of people in both nations.
