A 52-year-old Datsun has become one of the most eye-catching attractions at PAPS 2026, standing out among the latest cars, electric vehicles and modern automotive technology.
The 1974 Datsun 120Y has been almost completely covered with Pakistani coins, creating a unique appearance that immediately grabbed the attention of visitors at the Pakistan International Auto Show.
According to its owner, Tariq Javed, around 33,000 Pakistani coins were individually attached to the car using silicone glue. The coins are said to have a combined value of approximately Rs. 105,000, adding an unusual layer of history and creativity to the classic vehicle.
At 75 years old, Tariq Javed is no stranger to coin-covered cars. He previously created a Chevrolet Camaro covered in coins while living in Dubai. His latest Datsun project has now brought the same unusual concept to Pakistan’s automotive scene.
The display is not only attracting car enthusiasts but also creating plenty of curiosity among visitors who want to see how thousands of individual coins have been used to transform a classic automobile.
Javed reportedly hopes to pursue a Guinness World Record for owning two cars covered in coins, making the project more than just an unusual car modification.
