The Nawaz Sharif Cancer Hospital is the first specialized cancer hospital that the Punjab government is planning to open. There will be 150 beds in the first phase, featuring 50 beds for children and 100 beds for adults, along with special chemotherapy facilities. The estimated cost of this 333-kanal phase is Rs. 3.26 billion. Private contractors have been invited to submit applications for construction, and the project will be managed by the Infrastructure Development and Economic Planning (IDEP).
The Jinnah Medical Complex in Islamabad, which will have cutting-edge facilities for treating complicated diseases including cancer, heart, lung, and renal disorders, was recently dedicated by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The facility, which would cover over 800 kanals, will also have contemporary labs, nursing schools, and an air ambulance service for emergency situations. The prime minister stressed that the complex will provide access to high-quality healthcare by treating people from disadvantaged backgrounds for free.
These programs demonstrate how committed the Punjabi government is to enhancing Pakistani healthcare and cancer treatment.
