Indian Sikh pilgrims visiting Pakistan for Baisakhi celebrations at Gurdwara Panja Sahib have expressed deep appreciation for the warm hospitality and outstanding arrangements made by the Government of Pakistan for Baisakhi Celebrations. They shared their heartfelt gratitude, saying these arrangements allowed them to celebrate their sacred religious festival with devotion and peace.
According to media reports, Sikh yatrees stated that Pakistan “won their hearts” with the extraordinary preparations for Baisakhi this year. The pilgrims especially praised the efforts made by the authorities to make their journey smooth and spiritually fulfilling.
This year, 5,890 Sikh yatrees arrived from India and were divided into groups to visit different holy sites. The first group reached Gurdwara Panja Sahib via 60 buses from the Wagah border, while the second group traveled to Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur.
The yatrees also highlighted Pakistan’s grand reception, cultural hospitality, and seamless facilitation, describing it as a reflection of the country’s dedication to religious tourism and interfaith harmony.
They were highly satisfied with the security arrangements, comfortable accommodations, healthcare services, and traditional langar (free meals) provided throughout their stay. The Sikh pilgrims were also given freedom to perform religious rituals at Panja Sahib and other spiritual sites without any interference.
One yatree said, “This warm welcome and respect for our faith show how committed Pakistan is to strengthening the bonds of goodwill and religious coexistence.”
They collectively extended a heartfelt thank you to the people and government of Pakistan, emphasizing how such respectful treatment reflects the strong relationship of mutual respect between the Sikh community and Pakistan during Baisakhi Celebrations.
These efforts also highlight Pakistan’s growing role in promoting religious tourism, preserving interfaith respect, and showcasing its rich cultural heritage to the global community.
