Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif held an important meeting with Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik to review the situation created by the ongoing global tensions and its impact on petroleum supplies in the province.
During the meeting, officials discussed the supply, demand, and available reserves of petroleum products across Punjab. The participants also reviewed the possible effects of the international crisis on fuel availability and agreed on adopting a fuel conservation and savings policy to maintain balance between demand and supply.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz emphasized the urgent need to ensure the uninterrupted supply of diesel for agricultural use, stressing that farmers must not face difficulties during the farming season. She directed authorities to closely monitor fuel availability and take timely steps to prevent shortages.

The meeting also agreed on strict monitoring of petroleum reserves and ordered a strong crackdown against fuel hoarding. The Chief Minister instructed district administrations across Punjab to continuously monitor the supply of petroleum products and ensure that citizens do not face unnecessary difficulties.
Relevant departments, including PERA and the Transport Department, were directed to keep a close watch on the situation and take immediate action against violations. Maryam Nawaz also instructed officials to ensure that people do not have to stand in long queues at petrol pumps.
She made it clear that no petrol pump in Punjab will be allowed to sell petroleum products above the official prices. Officials also briefed the meeting about reserves of petrol, diesel, LNG, and other fuels.
The Chief Minister stressed that immediate measures for fuel conservation are necessary in the current global situation, adding that the nation must remain strong and united to overcome the economic challenges.
