Pakistani player Sohaib Sanaullah has brought another title home by winning the B Division of the Lake George Scrabble Tournament in New York, USA.
Sohaib delivered an exceptional performance, winning 14 out of 15 games to claim the championship. The 22-year-old returned to competitive Scrabble after a four-year break following the completion of his education, but his time away didn’t affect his skills as he dominated the tournament.
In addition to securing the B Division title, Sohaib also won the award for the highest single move, scoring an impressive 163 points. He further showcased his talent by achieving the highest single-game score of 646 points, earning yet another accolade.
In the tournament, Neil Gaine finished second, and Justin Morris placed third, while Sohaib’s brother, Daniyal Sanaullah, also excelled, taking fourth place.
A total of 174 players from various divisions participated in this prestigious Scrabble event, highlighting its highly competitive and international nature.
The stellar performances by Pakistani players reaffirm their growing presence on the global Scrabble stage, showcasing their mental sharpness in this challenging word game.
