Pakistan Unveils Bird-Shaped Spy Drone Powered by Biomimetic Technology

Pakistan has unveiled an advanced bird-shaped surveillance drone for the first time at the Indus RAS Expo in Islamabad, showcasing a major step forward in the country’s defense and unmanned aerial technology.

The innovative drone is based on biomimetic technology, a design approach that imitates the movements and behavior of living organisms. Unlike conventional drones with fixed propellers, this next-generation aircraft is designed to flap its wings and fly like a real bird, making it significantly more difficult to distinguish from wildlife during flight.

According to the developers, the drone’s bird-like appearance and natural flying pattern enhance its stealth surveillance capabilities. By blending into its surroundings, it can conduct intelligence and reconnaissance missions over sensitive areas while reducing the likelihood of detection by both the human eye and conventional radar systems.

The presentation of the drone at the Indus RAS Expo attracted considerable attention from defense experts and technology enthusiasts, reflecting Pakistan’s increasing investment in research, robotics, and next-generation defense technologies.

While detailed technical specifications and operational capabilities have not yet been made public, the bird-shaped drone represents another milestone in Pakistan’s efforts to strengthen its domestic defense industry and expand its portfolio of advanced aerial systems.
