Pakistani Canadians Ashraf Lodhi and Najam Zaidi Receive King Charles III Coronation Medal for Community Service

Two distinguished members of the Pakistani-Canadian community, Ashraf Lodhi and Najam-ul-Hassan Zaidi, have been awarded the prestigious “King Charles III Coronation Medal” in Canada in recognition of their outstanding service and contributions to society.

The honors were bestowed during a formal ceremony organized in Canada, where Member of Parliament Iqra Khalid presented the medals and certificates. The event gathered community leaders, public officials, and members of the Pakistani diaspora, all celebrating the achievements of these two exemplary individuals.

Ashraf Khan Lodhi, a veteran journalist with a long-standing reputation for excellence in media and public discourse, has played a significant role in promoting diversity and multicultural dialogue through his work in Canada. Najam Zaidi, originally hailing from Nawabshah, Sindh, has been equally instrumental in supporting local community initiatives, serving as a bridge between cultural communities and contributing to social cohesion.

MP Iqra Khalid, while addressing the gathering, emphasized that the “King Charles III Coronation Medal” is more than just a token of appreciation—it is a symbol of honour that recognizes individuals whose efforts contribute meaningfully to Canadian society while upholding a spirit of service connected to the Commonwealth. She lauded both recipients for embodying the values of dedication, unity, and civic responsibility.

The Coronation Medal was established to commemorate the ascension of King Charles III on May 6, 2023. As a Canadian commemorative honour, it is awarded to individuals who have demonstrated exemplary leadership, volunteerism, or service to their provinces, cities, or cultural communities. It reflects a broader commitment to recognizing the unsung heroes of society who foster goodwill, inclusion, and progress.

The recognition of Pakistani-origin Canadians such as Lodhi and Zaidi not only highlights their personal achievements but also showcases the evolving influence of the Pakistani diaspora in Canada’s multicultural fabric. Their stories are a testament to how immigrants continue to make lasting, positive impacts in their adopted homeland, enriching it with their diverse backgrounds and unshakeable commitment to community development.

This award sets a proud precedent and serves as an inspiration for younger generations of Pakistani-Canadians to step forward and contribute to their communities with passion and purpose.
