Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has unveiled a major development initiative for Upper Chitral, announcing the construction of a modern hospital with work set to begin immediately. The project aims to provide improved healthcare access to residents of the remote northern region.
During his visit, the Prime Minister also reviewed ongoing infrastructure projects and issued strict completion deadlines for two critical road developments. The 153-kilometer Chitral–Boni–Masood–Shandur Road has been directed to be completed by December, while a separate 46-kilometer road project must be finalized by May next year.
These projects are part of the government’s broader vision to enhance connectivity, tourism, and socio-economic growth in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s highland districts. Improved road access is expected to facilitate trade, promote tourism in the scenic Shandur Valley, and ease travel for local communities.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that timely completion of these projects is essential for regional progress and directed relevant authorities to maintain quality and transparency at every stage.
The dual focus on healthcare and infrastructure marks a strategic step toward inclusive development, ensuring that remote regions like Upper Chitral receive the attention and investment needed for long-term growth.
