PM Shehbaz Sharif Holds Key Meetings with Leading Chinese Companies in Beijing

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a series of high-level meetings with major Chinese business delegations in Beijing, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to expanding economic, industrial, and infrastructure cooperation under CPEC Phase II.

During his meeting with the delegation of FAMSUN, led by CEO Zhengjun Chen, the Prime Minister appreciated the company’s long-standing contribution to Pakistan’s agriculture sector, especially in grain storage, feed production, and food security. He stressed the need to reduce post-harvest losses and invited FAMSUN to set up manufacturing and technology transfer facilities in Pakistan through Special Economic Zones and the Green Pakistan Initiative.

The Prime Minister also met Chairman Hou Jianxin of Shandong Xinxu Group Corporation. He welcomed the company’s expanding investment portfolio in Pakistan, including maritime development, battery manufacturing, mineral processing, and industrial cooperation. He appreciated its role in projects such as the Xinxu Special Economic Zone, the Sea-to-Steel project at Port Qasim, and investments in Gwadar and northern mineral sectors. He reaffirmed government support for fast-tracking these strategic initiatives under CPEC Phase II.

In another meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif engaged with Chairman Zhang Bingnan of China Communications Construction Corporation (CCCC) and representatives of China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC). He praised their decades-long contribution to Pakistan’s infrastructure development, including major projects like the Karakoram Highway and Rashakai Special Economic Zone. He also reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to accelerating key connectivity projects such as ML-1 and other CPEC-related infrastructure developments.

The Chinese companies expressed strong confidence in Pakistan’s economic potential and showed interest in expanding investments in agriculture, logistics, manufacturing, infrastructure, and technology sectors.

The Prime Minister was accompanied by senior ministers and officials, who were directed to ensure timely implementation and follow-up of decisions taken during these business engagements.
