A Polish woman has travelled to Pakistan and married a man she met through social media, after freely choosing to convert to Islam. The woman, identified as Mangorzana, developed a close friendship online with Matiullah, a resident of Manoor Hayat, Bhalwal, which soon turned into a deep bond.
Following months of communication and growing affection, Mangorzana arrived in Sargodha, Punjab, to meet Matiullah in person. Before the marriage, she embraced Islam at Jamia Masjid Hamid Shah, where religious scholar Qazi Nigah Mustafa Chishti oversaw the conversion ceremony. After accepting Islam, she adopted her new Islamic name, Maryam.

The couple later formalized their marriage in the family court of Judge Samar Hayat.
Speaking to local media, Maryam emphasized that she came to Pakistan entirely of her own free will. She made it clear that both her decision to convert to Islam and her marriage were choices she made independently, without any pressure.
She expressed happiness about beginning a new life with her husband, saying:
“My marriage and my decision to embrace Islam are completely my own wishes. I have come here willingly.”
The story has gained widespread attention on social media, highlighting yet another cross-cultural union formed through digital connections.
