Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced a strict ban on wall chalking across the province as part of an ambitious beautification campaign to restore the visual appeal of cities and towns.
Under this new initiative, public and private building walls will be cleaned, repainted, and restored, eliminating unauthorized advertisements, political slogans, and graffiti that have long contributed to urban clutter.

The campaign is being implemented through 132 beautification projects worth Rs. 16.5 billion, currently in progress across 39 districts. These projects aim to revitalize urban spaces, improve public infrastructure, and enhance environmental quality.
Officials said the initiative will not only beautify cities but also promote public awareness about cleanliness and civic responsibility. The government has set mid-2026 as the target for full completion of the program, with district administrations directed to strictly enforce the ban and take action against violators.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz emphasized that the campaign is part of her government’s broader vision for a clean, green, and modern Punjab, ensuring that city landscapes reflect the province’s culture, pride, and progress.
