Punjab is on track to become a regional education hub as several prestigious international universities prepare to establish campuses in the province. Four renowned UK Universities University of London, Brunel University, University of Gloucestershire, and University of Leicester have finalized plans to open their branch campuses in Punjab.
They will be joined by a leading Kazakhstani university and a Korean university campus in Lahore, further enhancing the province’s academic landscape. Additionally, the South Korean government has pledged to establish a free language learning center, enabling Pakistani students to gain essential language skills and improve access to international opportunities.
This initiative is being facilitated by the Punjab government, which has allocated dedicated space in Knowledge City and introduced streamlined standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure smooth operations. By providing access to international-quality education within Pakistan, the project is expected to create a wealth of opportunities for local students, reducing the need to travel abroad for higher studies.
Officials noted that this development will not only improve education standards but also strengthen Punjab’s position as a hub for global collaboration in academics, research, and innovation. The arrival of these universities reflects growing confidence in Pakistan’s potential to host world-class institutions and provide students with global exposure at home.
