The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has issued a public notice announcing that more than 200 companies are scheduled to be removed from the corporate registry. These firms will be formally dissolved if no objections are received within 90 days from the date of the notice.

According to the SECP, the companies requested removal under Section 426 of the Companies Act, 2017, and in accordance with the Companies Easy Exit Regulations, 2014. The notices were published upon the companies’ own applications through the official advertisement section designated for corporate bodies and private individuals.

SECP stated that the chief executives and directors of the listed companies submitted formal declarations—certified by auditors and practicing chartered accountants—confirming that:

  • The companies possess no assets or liabilities
  • They are not involved in any business activities
  • They owe no dues to banks, financial institutions, government departments, utilities, or private entities

In line with Sections 425 and 426 of the Companies Act, SECP has opened a window for objections. If no valid objections are filed within the 90-day period, the names of these companies will be struck off the official register and treated as dissolved.

The SECP emphasized that the entire process is being conducted strictly under the legal framework governing the voluntary exit of dormant or inactive companies.
