The textile industry experienced a notable resurgence in 2024, with exports increasing by $1.3 billion compared to the previous year.
This textile boom comes after years of decline, with the sector showing significant recovery in the first eleven months of the year.
Pakistan’s textile exports for 2024 reached $15.97 billion, marking a $1.3 billion rise year-on-year. Exporters in Faisalabad have welcomed this progress, describing it as a positive step for the industry.
Rehan Naseem Bhara, President of the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce, emphasized that despite soaring electricity costs, knitwear exports climbed to $570 million, while ready-made garments saw an impressive $55 billion surge.
Wahid Khalik Ramay, another prominent exporter, attributed the growth to a stable dollar value and controlled raw material costs, which have reduced fabric prices and further fueled export growth.
