The Punjab Assembly has approved a resolution to raise the age limit for government recruitment. The resolution was presented by MPA Amjad Ali Javed after prolonged delay in departmental responses. According to the resolution, Punjab’s administrative officers (PMS) are selected through the Punjab Public Service Commission, which currently allows candidates up to 30 years old with three attempts. In comparison, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan have increased their age limit to 45 years and permit five attempts. The Punjab Assembly believes Punjab should also revise its rules to give more opportunities to potential candidates, aligning with other provincial standards for fairer employment practices.
