Lahore is set to achieve a major milestone in urban transportation with the launch of its first-ever 100% underground metro train project, spanning approximately 27 kilometers. The ambitious project is designed to provide fast, efficient, and reliable public transport for the city’s growing population and is expected to serve more than 250,000 passengers daily.

The underground system aims to significantly reduce traffic congestion, improve travel times, and enhance urban mobility in one of Pakistan’s busiest cities. By shifting a large number of commuters from roads to rail, the project is also expected to contribute to lower emissions and a cleaner urban environment.

The project represents a major investment in Pakistan’s public transport infrastructure, reflecting efforts to modernize city transit and meet the needs of a rapidly expanding urban population.

Once completed and operational, the underground metro will strengthen connectivity across Lahore, making daily commuting easier and more convenient for thousands of residents while supporting long-term economic and urban development in the region.
