Pakistan has invited Saudi Arabia to explore multi-billion-dollar investment opportunities in its power sector as both countries move to strengthen cooperation in energy development. During high-level discussions, Energy Minister Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari presented plans to modernize Pakistan’s electricity infrastructure and attract greater foreign investment.
The proposed opportunities include investments in power transmission networks, smart grid technology, smart metering systems, and other critical energy infrastructure projects. Pakistan aims to expand transmission capacity, improve grid efficiency, reduce electricity losses, and build a more reliable and sustainable power system.

The talks also focused on accelerating renewable energy integration, implementing power sector reforms, and creating a more transparent and investment-friendly electricity market. The initiative reflects Pakistan’s broader strategy to attract strategic foreign investment and strengthen economic ties with Saudi Arabia through large-scale infrastructure and energy partnerships.
