Iran has lodged a formal complaint at the United Nations after alleging that the United States seized an Iranian vessel, escalating tensions between the two countries.
Iranian officials strongly condemned the move, calling it a violation of international norms and maritime laws. The complaint submitted to the United Nations seeks international attention and action regarding the incident.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, criticized US President Donald Trump, accusing him of trying to turn ongoing negotiations into a “platform for surrender.” He claimed that Washington is using pressure tactics such as blockades and ceasefire violations to force Iran into submission.
Qalibaf further warned that Tehran will not engage in talks conducted under threats or coercion, emphasizing that Iran remains firm on its position and will defend its sovereignty.
