A delegation from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has visited Multan International Airport to assess plans for the installation of a modern Baggage Handling System (BHS), according to the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA). The visit marks an important step toward upgrading airport infrastructure and improving passenger services at one of South Punjab’s key aviation hubs.
During the visit, JICA experts conducted a detailed technical evaluation of the proposed baggage handling project. The team inspected various sections of the airport and reviewed the operational requirements needed for the successful implementation of the advanced system. Officials said the assessment focused on ensuring that the planned facility meets international standards for efficiency, safety, and passenger convenience.
The foreign experts also carried out an on-site survey of airport infrastructure to determine the technical feasibility of the project. Their review included examining available space, existing facilities, passenger flow, and integration requirements for the new baggage handling technology. The findings will help shape future planning and development of the project.
