The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has issued a detailed statement following a series of tragic suicide bombing incidents in Pakistan. These attacks included a bombing at an Imam Bargah in Islamabad, as well as separate incidents in Bajaur and Bannu. Another attack was reported in Bannu during the holy month of Ramzan, further deepening national grief and concern.
According to official sources, Pakistan possesses conclusive evidence that these acts of terrorism were carried out by Khwarij elements operating under the direction of Afghanistan-based leadership and handlers. Responsibility for the attacks has reportedly been claimed by Afghanistan-based Pakistani Taliban factions identified as Fitna al Khwarij (FAK) and their affiliates, as well as by the Islamic State of Khorasan Province (ISKP).
The government has stated that Pakistan has repeatedly urged the Afghan Taliban regime to take verifiable and decisive measures to prevent the use of Afghan territory by terrorist groups and foreign proxies for launching attacks inside Pakistan. Despite diplomatic engagements and continuous communication, authorities claim that no substantive action has been taken to dismantle these terrorist networks operating across the border.

Pakistan has emphasized its long-standing commitment to regional peace and stability. However, officials have reiterated that the safety and security of Pakistani citizens remain the country’s foremost priority. In response to the recent wave of attacks, Pakistan conducted intelligence-based and highly selective operations targeting seven identified terrorist camps and hideouts. These locations were reportedly linked to Pakistani Taliban factions of FAK and their affiliates, as well as ISKP, situated along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border region. Authorities describe the operations as precise and carefully executed to minimize unintended consequences.
The government has once again called upon the Interim Afghan Government to fulfill its international obligations and prevent the use of its soil by Khwarij and other terrorist elements against Pakistan. Officials stressed that protecting Pakistani citizens is non-negotiable and remains the top national priority.
Furthermore, Pakistan has urged the international community to play a constructive role in encouraging the Taliban regime to honor its commitments under the Doha Agreement, particularly the pledge to ensure that Afghan territory is not used for attacks against other countries. The statement concluded by highlighting that regional and global peace depends on collective responsibility, cooperation, and firm action against terrorism in all its forms.
