Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met with Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers Meeting in Cholpon-Ata, where both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening Pakistan-Belarus relations.
During the meeting, the two ministers reviewed the current state of bilateral ties and expressed satisfaction with the growing cooperation between the two countries. They agreed to further expand collaboration across a wide range of sectors, including trade, investment, defense, agriculture, technology, and workforce exchange.

Both sides also looked forward to the 9th Session of the Pakistan-Belarus Joint Ministerial Commission, scheduled to be held in Islamabad on August 11–12, 2026. The upcoming session is expected to provide a platform for advancing new initiatives and enhancing cooperation under the Roadmap for Comprehensive Cooperation (2025–2027).
The discussions also covered regional and international developments, with both leaders exchanging views on issues of mutual interest. Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov appreciated Pakistan’s constructive diplomatic efforts in facilitating dialogue during the recent U.S.-Iran tensions and commended Islamabad’s continued commitment to promoting regional peace, stability, and dialogue.
The meeting reflects the growing partnership between Pakistan and Belarus as both countries seek to strengthen economic ties, encourage high-level exchanges, and explore new opportunities for collaboration in strategic sectors.
Pakistan has been actively expanding its diplomatic and economic engagement with friendly nations, and the renewed commitment with Belarus highlights Islamabad’s broader foreign policy objective of building stronger international partnerships while contributing to regional peace and sustainable development.
