Pakistan has officially begun preparations for Hajj 2027, achieving a major milestone in its digital transformation of pilgrimage services. The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony announced that more than 150,000 Hajj applications were registered within just eight days through the newly launched online Hajj portal developed by the National IT Board (NITB).
The rapid response highlights the growing adoption of digital public services and reflects the government’s efforts to make the Hajj application process more efficient, transparent, and accessible for all aspiring pilgrims.
Under the government’s digital governance initiative, the Hajj process is being shifted to a fully online system. Through the Online Hajj Portal and the Pak Hajj mobile app, applicants can now complete registration, submit applications, track their status, and access important updates without visiting government offices.
The Ministry also announced that Hajj payments will soon be integrated into a fully digital payment system through 1LINK, allowing pilgrims to pay their Hajj dues electronically. This system is expected to eliminate the need for repeated visits to banks or government offices, making the entire process faster and more convenient.

Officials said the new digital model will be especially beneficial for overseas Pakistanis, enabling them to register, monitor their applications, and complete payments from anywhere in the world.
In addition, the Ministry has confirmed that several new features have been added to both the online portal and the Pak Hajj mobile application to further improve the user experience and simplify the application process.
The successful registration of over 150,000 applicants in only eight days is being viewed as a significant achievement in Pakistan’s e-governance journey. Authorities believe the digital system will improve transparency, reduce paperwork, enhance efficiency, and provide a smoother experience for pilgrims preparing for Hajj 2027.
The Ministry has encouraged intending pilgrims to use the official digital platforms for future updates, registration, and payment procedures as preparations for Hajj 2027 continue.
