Following the tragic roof collapse at a tuition center in Kahna, the Lahore Education Authority has announced an emergency citywide survey of private tuition centers, academies, and educational buildings to improve student safety.
The survey aims to assess the condition of educational facilities and identify any safety risks that could endanger students and staff. According to officials, special teams have been formed to inspect private academies and tuition centers across Lahore, with the survey expected to be completed within three days.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Education Authority said that inspection teams will collect detailed information on each institution, including building safety measures, the number of enrolled students, and other essential operational details. The collected data will be used to prepare a comprehensive report for the district administration.
Based on the findings, the Education Authority plans to introduce a new policy for the registration and regulation of private tuition centers. The proposed framework is intended to ensure that all tuition academies meet minimum safety standards and operate under clear legal guidelines, reducing the risk of similar incidents in the future.

The survey will also identify unregistered and structurally unsafe tuition centers operating in different parts of the city. Meanwhile, the Lahore district administration has announced that home-based tuition centers operating without official permission will face fines. The decision is aimed at ensuring that all educational facilities comply with safety regulations and legal requirements before providing academic services.
