PTCL Group, Pakistan’s leading integrated ICT provider, has reached a significant milestone by introducing the country’s first 800 Gbps per wavelength Super C+L Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) system.
This state-of-the-art technology enables data transmission of 64 Tbps per fibre, with the potential to expand up to 96 Tbps, representing a crucial advancement for Pakistan’s digital infrastructure. Developed in collaboration with Huawei, the Super C+L system offers an optical spectrum of up to 12 THz, compared to the 4.8 THz of conventional systems.
It integrates high-speed 800 Gbps per wavelength, an ultra-wide Super C+L spectrum, and advanced Flexible Grid optical switching.
This innovation places PTCL at the forefront of Pakistan’s digital evolution, preparing the network for future technologies like Fixed 5.5G (F5.5G) and enabling faster, more efficient connectivity.
