Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met with Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs, His Excellency Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan bin Ali Al Thani, in Doha. The meeting focused on strengthening defense cooperation, security collaboration, and further improving bilateral relations between Pakistan and Qatar.
During the meeting, both leaders reaffirmed the strong and historic ties between the two brotherly countries. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted that Pakistan deeply values its relationship with Qatar and considers it an important partner in various sectors. He expressed satisfaction over the ongoing cooperation between the armed forces of both countries and emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to expanding defense collaboration in the future.
The Prime Minister stated that there is great potential to enhance cooperation in defense training, exchange of expertise, and joint initiatives. He stressed that closer defense and security ties would not only benefit both nations but also contribute to regional peace and stability.
His Excellency Sheikh Saud praised the professionalism and capabilities of the Pakistan Armed Forces. He expressed Qatar’s interest in further deepening defense partnership with Pakistan. He acknowledged the positive progress in bilateral relations and showed confidence in achieving stronger strategic cooperation in the coming years.

The meeting also included discussions on the regional situation, particularly developments in Iran and Afghanistan. Both sides emphasized the importance of dialogue, de-escalation, and collective efforts to promote peace and stability in the region. They agreed that regional challenges should be addressed through cooperation, understanding, and peaceful engagement.
The two leaders reaffirmed their shared commitment to elevating the strategic partnership between Pakistan and Qatar across all areas of mutual interest. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi were also present at the meeting.
The meeting reflected the strong diplomatic and defense ties between Pakistan and Qatar and highlighted the mutual desire to further strengthen cooperation in the future.
