Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has unveiled a major relief package aimed at providing support to citizens, farmers, and motorcyclists across the province amid rising fuel prices. The announcement includes several key initiatives designed to ease the financial burden on the public and protect agricultural activities.

As part of the package, all public transport services in Punjab will operate free of charge. This includes metro buses, Orange Line trains, Speedo buses, and Green Electric buses. The government emphasized that the move is aimed at encouraging citizens to use public transport while reducing their daily travel expenses.

For registered motorcyclists, the government announced a fuel subsidy of Rs100 per litre on 20 litres of petrol, making daily commuting more affordable. Citizens are encouraged to ensure their motorcycles are registered in their names to qualify for this benefit.

Farmers will also receive support under the new relief measures. A subsidy of Rs100 per litre on diesel will be provided for up to one acre of farmland per farmer, helping reduce the cost of agricultural operations and support crop production during challenging economic times.

This is part of a broader effort to secure the agricultural sector and strengthen food security across Punjab.

Maryam Nawaz stressed that these measures are part of the government’s commitment to stand with the public during difficult times and to provide financial relief to ordinary citizens and farmers. By implementing subsidies and cash support, the government aims to alleviate the economic pressures caused by rising fuel prices and global inflation.

These initiatives reflect a proactive approach to social welfare and economic support, ensuring that citizens and farmers receive tangible benefits that improve their day-to-day lives.
