Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Chief Minister of Punjab, has authorized the name of the Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital in Mian Channu in Arshad Nadeem’s honor. The hospital has been renamed the “Olympian Arshad Nadeem THQ Hospital” in honor of his exceptional achievement during the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
In the Men’s Javelin Throw finals, Arshad Nadeem created history by smashing a long-standing Olympic record. With an incredible throw of 92.97 meters, he broke the record held by 118 people, won a gold medal, and won the respect of people in Pakistan and throughout the world.
The Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department of Punjab formally announced the hospital’s renaming choice.
The announcement verified that Nadeem will now be named after the 100-bed hospital in Mian Channu, his birthplace. “The Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital in Mian Channu, District Khanewal, is hereby renamed ‘Olympian Arshad Nadeem THQ Hospital,’ with the approval of the competent authority,” the notification stated.
This renaming is in homage to Nadeem’s extraordinary accomplishment and his role in promoting national pride.
The hospital will now continue to uphold the legacy of one of Pakistan’s finest sportsmen, and it plays a significant role in delivering healthcare services to the local population.
