President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari has arrived in Manama on a four-day official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, marking an important step in strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries. Upon his arrival, the president was warmly received by Commander of the Bahrain National Guard Sheikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa and Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, reflecting the importance Bahrain attaches to its ties with Pakistan.
The visit is aimed at deepening cooperation across multiple sectors, including political engagement, defense collaboration, trade, investment, and people-to-people contacts. Pakistan and Bahrain share long-standing relations rooted in mutual respect, shared values, and close cooperation at regional and international forums. Over the years, both countries have worked together on issues of regional security, economic development, and labor mobility.

The welfare of the Pakistani community living and working in Bahrain is also expected to feature prominently in the talks.
Defense and security cooperation is another important aspect of Pakistan–Bahrain relations. Pakistan has historically contributed to Bahrain’s defense and training sectors, and both sides are expected to review existing arrangements and explore avenues for enhanced collaboration in professional training and capacity building.
The visit also carries symbolic significance, underscoring Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening relations with Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. Bahrain has been a consistent partner of Pakistan in regional and multilateral platforms, and both countries share a common approach on many regional and global issues.
Officials believe that President Zardari’s visit will help open new avenues for cooperation and further solidify the friendly and brotherly ties between Pakistan and Bahrain.
