Former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan has received his second anti-VEGF injection as part of his ongoing eye treatment at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS). The treatment was carried out after proper medical consultation and with his full consent, according to sources.
Before the procedure, special permission was granted by the Executive Director of PIMS to ensure that all medical protocols were followed. After receiving official approval, Imran Khan was brought to PIMS for his scheduled eye treatment. Doctors examined his condition and proceeded with the second dose of the anti-VEGF injection under strict medical guidelines.
Medical sources confirmed that Imran Khan had already been informed about the treatment plan during his first visit. On 25th January, he was given the first anti-VEGF injection after doctors explained the procedure and possible need for further doses. At that time, he gave his consent and showed readiness to continue the treatment if required.

During the recent visit, doctors once again briefed him about the injection process. According to reports, Imran Khan asked whether the treatment would be carried out while sitting. The doctors advised him to lie down and remain relaxed during the procedure for better comfort and safety. He reportedly agreed and told the medical staff to proceed with the treatment.
The anti-VEGF injection is commonly used for certain eye conditions to prevent further damage and improve vision. It helps reduce abnormal blood vessel growth and swelling in the eye. Medical experts say that such injections are usually given in multiple doses depending on the patient’s condition and response to treatment.
After the procedure was successfully completed, Imran Khan was sent back to jail. Sources stated that the treatment was carried out smoothly without any complications. Medical staff followed all standard operating procedures to ensure his safety.
Officials have confirmed that the treatment plan is part of routine medical care and that all necessary approvals were obtained before each visit. Further medical follow-ups may be conducted if doctors consider it necessary.
The development has drawn attention from political supporters and observers, as updates regarding Imran Khan’s health continue to remain a matter of public interest.
