A new chapter of friendship is being written between Pakistan and Azerbaijan as both countries move closer through diplomatic and cultural cooperation. In an important meeting held with the Ambassador of Azerbaijan, Khazar Farhadov, Punjab Minister for Minority Affairs Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora highlighted strong bilateral relations and future collaboration opportunities.
The meeting was seen as a positive step after the visit of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to Baku, which is now being called a turning point in Pakistan–Azerbaijan relations. Both sides agreed that this visit has opened new doors for cooperation in housing, culture, and tourism.
The Azerbaijani Ambassador appreciated the Punjab government’s “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar” housing scheme, saying it is gaining international recognition as a successful model. He also said that such initiatives are improving Pakistan’s global image in a positive way.
During the discussion, both parties agreed to promote cultural heritage and religious tourism between the two countries. Special focus was given to strengthening people-to-people connections and encouraging mutual understanding through cultural exchange programs.

Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora emphasized the importance of religious harmony and invited the Azerbaijani Ambassador to visit Lahore. He said that Lahore is a city rich in history, culture, and interfaith harmony, which reflects the true spirit of Pakistan.
The meeting also focused on empowering minority communities and promoting inclusive development in Punjab. Both sides agreed that cooperation in development projects and cultural exchange will benefit the people of both countries.
This growing friendship between Pakistan and Azerbaijan is being seen as a strong example of regional diplomacy, unity, and shared progress for the future.
