COAS Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir Visits Masjid-e-Nabvi in Madinah

Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Hafiz Syed Asim Munir NI (M), HJ, visited Masjid-e-Nabvi in Madinah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), during his official visit. The visit reflected the deep spiritual, historical, and strategic ties between Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Speaking on the occasion, the COAS highlighted Pakistan’s special place in the Muslim world. He stated that among all Muslim countries, Allah Almighty has bestowed upon Pakistan the honour of being the guardians of the Two Holy Mosques (Haramain). He emphasized that this responsibility reflects Pakistan’s commitment to the protection and dignity of the Islamic world.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir also spoke about the strong connection between Riyasat-e-Tayyaba — the Islamic state established in Madinah — and the State of Pakistan. He described the defence cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia as historic, rooted in shared faith, mutual trust, and long-standing brotherly relations.

The COAS recalled his personal connection with Madinah, sharing that during his posting in Saudi Arabia as a Lieutenant Colonel, he memorized the Holy Quran in Madinah, earning the title of Hafiz-e-Quran. This aspect of his life was highlighted as a symbol of his deep religious commitment and spiritual bond with the holy city.

Military and diplomatic observers note that the visit underlines the enduring defence partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, which includes training cooperation, security collaboration, and mutual support. The visit also reinforced shared values and the spiritual unity that strengthens bilateral relations.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir’s visit to Masjid-e-Nabvi was seen as a moment of reflection, faith, and reaffirmation of Pakistan’s role in promoting unity and stability within the Muslim world.
