Pakeeza, a recent graduate of the Pakistan Military Academy, has made history by receiving the prestigious Commandant’s Cane, a significant milestone for women in the Pakistan Army. Hailing from a small village in Gujarat, her journey symbolizes the growing presence of women in the country’s armed forces.
The daughter of a retired Subedar, Pakeeza credits her father with instilling in her military values, discipline, and punctuality from a young age. After completing her MBBS from Army Medical College, she joined the Pakistan Army’s Medical Corps.
Reflecting on her achievement, Pakeeza said, “Receiving the Commandant’s Cane is not just an award for me but the fulfillment of my father’s dreams and recognition of my hard work, determination, and passion.” She stressed that this accomplishment shows Pakistani women can excel in even the most challenging fields.
Her success highlights the increasing number of women graduating from the Pakistan Military Academy and taking on significant roles within the armed forces. It reflects the military’s ongoing efforts to integrate women and offer them meaningful opportunities for career advancement.
