Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has instructed officials of the Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority (PERA) to treat every citizen with respect, professionalism, and dignity while carrying out their official duties. She stressed that public service should be based on courtesy, accountability, and adherence to the law.
During a meeting with PERA officials, Maryam Nawaz made it clear that intimidating behavior, disrespectful language, and the misuse of authority would not be tolerated. Referring to common complaints about harsh conduct, she said there should be “no more ‘Oye’ or ‘Niklo, Saman Uthao'”, emphasizing that government officials must interact with the public in a polite and respectful manner.
The Chief Minister also directed PERA to strengthen public engagement through the Ask PERA portal, ensuring that citizens can easily submit complaints and receive timely responses. She instructed officials to resolve public grievances quickly and efficiently while maintaining transparency throughout the process.

Maryam Nawaz emphasized that every enforcement action must be carried out strictly according to PERA rules and legal procedures. She warned that corruption, abuse of power, and arbitrary actions against citizens would face zero tolerance under her administration.
She said the government’s goal is to build public trust by ensuring that officials perform their duties fairly and respectfully. According to the Chief Minister, effective governance depends not only on enforcing laws but also on treating people with courtesy and protecting their rights.
The new directives are part of the Punjab government’s broader efforts to improve public service delivery and promote a citizen-friendly approach within government institutions. Officials have been reminded that professionalism, accountability, and respect must remain at the center of all enforcement activities.
Maryam Nawaz concluded that government employees represent the state and should always uphold its values through ethical conduct and responsible behavior.
