Saudi Arabia has introduced a mandatory Nusuk Food Voucher program for Umrah pilgrims from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, and Egypt as part of efforts to improve services and enhance the pilgrimage experience.
According to the new policy, which will take effect from 1st Rabi’ al-Awwal, every Umrah pilgrim from these four countries will be required to purchase a daily food voucher worth 20 Saudi Riyals. The initiative is part of Saudi Arabia’s broader plan to integrate accommodation, transportation, meals, and other pilgrimage services into a single digital platform.
Under the system, each pilgrim will receive a unique code linked to their Umrah visa, allowing them to redeem meals at approved restaurants through the Nusuk platform. Saudi authorities have already connected around 10,000 restaurants in Makkah and Madinah to the Nusuk app to facilitate the program.

The new digital system aims to streamline service delivery, improve convenience for pilgrims, and ensure access to standardized food services during their stay in the Kingdom. It also supports Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to modernize the management of Umrah and Hajj-related services through technology.
Travel operators and Umrah service providers are expected to update their packages to comply with the new regulations before the policy comes into effect. Pilgrims are advised to check the latest requirements with their authorized Umrah operators before planning their journey.
