The Punjab Education Department has announced new academic regulations for college students aimed at improving discipline and academic performance. According to the new policy, any student who fails in two or more subjects will not be promoted to the next class. This rule seeks to encourage consistent effort and seriousness toward studies.

Additionally, fines have been introduced for absenteeism during exams. Students who miss main exams will be fined Rs. 200, while those absent from monthly tests will pay Rs. 100. The department clarified that skipping an exam without a valid medical reason will be considered a failure. These strict measures are meant to ensure students take their assessments seriously.
All government college students are now required to appear in monthly, December, and pre-board examinations without exception. The Education Department stated that regular participation in exams is essential for evaluating student progress and maintaining academic standards. Authorities believe that the new system will reduce negligence, promote accountability, and raise the overall quality of education across Punjab’s colleges.
