In a groundbreaking move for emergency healthcare, the Sindh Integrated Emergency and Health Services (SIEHS) has unveiled the province’s first-ever Riverine Boat Ambulance. The innovative service, launched at the PIMEC 2025 exhibition, is specifically designed to provide life-saving medical care to remote coastal, riverine, and island communities that are completely cut off from traditional road access.
This specially equipped boat ambulance is a fully functional mobile medical unit, outfitted with advanced life-support gear, vital sign monitors, and robust communication systems to coordinate with hospitals. Built with flood-resilient features, it is engineered to operate during monsoon seasons and natural disasters when these communities are most vulnerable.
